About me - qualification
My name is Laia Cabré. My enthusiasm for cats started early when I was given a kitten for my 5th birthday. A few years later, the hangover became increasingly aggressive and my parents severely separated from him. Since then I have always wondered how we did it, why it happened and whether we could have prevented it. After that, during my studies, my soul cat Lluneta - 2002 - 2017 and high jump champion Kakarot came. They showed me how cats can understand and support us and how intelligent they are.
I've had cats for most of my life and over time I've learned to appreciate them more and more.
I currently live in Stuttgart with my playful cats Dana and Angie.
In my free time I like to travel and take photos.
I have a bachelor's and master's degree in molecular biology and genetics.
During my studies I took a course on the ethology of cats. But because I wanted to know a lot more about the gentle paws, I decided in 2017 to complete the distance learning course on animal psychology - specialty cats at the Academy for Animal Naturopathy (ATN).
The course had the following content:
- General ethology
- Ethogram
- Behavioral physiology
- Behavioral ecology
- The parent mother of the house cat, Felis lybica
- Wild and Domestic Cat Ethology
- Diet of the cat
- Cats' feelings and expressiveness
- Problems of the Felidae in captivity
- Domestic cat ethology: breeds, domestication, senses, communication, social - hunting, sexual, territorial and learning behavior
- Cognition in animals
- Personalities and relationships
- Cat keeping and multiple cat households
- Employment and games
- Behavioral & environmental enrichment
- stress
- Therapy tools and diagnostic techniques
- Problem behavior and solution approaches
For me, lifelong learning is the be-all and end-all, which is why I often attend advanced training seminars.
